Making our way up through the National Parks in the spring looking for bison and finding a whole lot more. The Tetons bison weren’t reachable this time around (behind a few road closures), but their ecological friends were in abundance.

Did you know bison once roamed nearly the entire North American Continent? The bison that once roamed the Rocky Mountain region were distinctly different when explorers wrote about them. Rumor has it, “Mountain Bison” were technically a cross between Woods Bison and Plains Bison.
Since bison are a keystone species who have impacted numerous other species, as we travel from park to park, ranch to ranch, filming the story of bison we often take a few moments to collect some b-roll from areas where bison once roamed. Our goal is to have very little stock footage and as much original footage as possible to be used in the film.
